PGA Jr League

PGA Junior League is a great program for getting any junior into golf.   PGA Junior League consists of group lessons & on-course play for kids ages 7-13.  On-course activities vary by site, but always consist of a team of 2-3 player playing together as a team.  Each player will hit a shot from the same location and then the team will select which of the shots they all want to play from next, this format is called a scramble.  This process is continued until the ball is in the hole.

An important part of getting juniors on the golf course is them also playing from an appropriate length on each hole.  I want everyone to have an opportunity to make pars and birdies.  Kids should be able to tee off, and then us an iron or wedge to hit the ball towards the green.  In order to do this multiple tees are added to the golf course for PGA Jr League nights.  Tees will range anywhere from 60-100 yards on a par 3, and par 5’s will vary from 200-325 yards.  We are looking for positive experiences where good shots are rewarded with opportunities for Par’s and Birdies.  Teeing it forward also allows for faster completion of 9 holes, we look to be able to play 9 holes in 2 hours!

Practices-  In my programs practices are done in small groups, juniors will sign up for Junior Clinics through my website and lesson scheduler.  Each student will receive a series of 6 lessons to use for either my Junior Golf Clinics at either the University of Montana Golf Course or King Ranch.

In all of my junior practices and camps we work to follow the US KIDS Player Pathway Program, where juniors look to accomplish challenges and earn pins in 5 categories; Full Swing, Around the Green, Putting, Scoring & Knowledge.  Once they have earned all 5 pins, they will move on the the next level.  There are a total of 10 levels in the US KIDS Player Pathway Program.

Practice times will occur at King Ranch on Wednesday Nights from 4:00- 5:00 & from 5:30-6:30.  Classes are currently set at the University on Tuesday Nights, with additional Saturday classes to come.

Game Days

On course experience is a key component of PGA Jr League, it allows kids to use their practice time to enjoy the game with friends.  At the University Golf Course, we will play on Sunday afternoons and at King Ranch we will play on Thursday Nights.  Times will be finalized as registrations come in.

Parents are key factor in Game Days,  your help with younger golfers is needed to help them move from hole to hole in a timely fashion.  Coaches will be on the course, but with groups spread across a large area we are always appreciative of your help.  Cart rental is available from each facility for parents.

Registration-

All registration is done through PGA Jr League, registration for my programs can be found by clicking HERE.  A positive change this year is the separate player registration fee, it is separate and only paid once per year.  If you are registered at a different facility for summer you can still participate in a spring or fall program for only $125!

I am excited for the upcoming season and look forward to seeing new and old faces!!
